8 months

Here's me sitting on a park bench after church. I now weigh 19lbs.
Although I haven't started crawling yet, I can get on all-fours and move back and forth. This weekend I even tried to extend one arm, but I fell on my face. I'm good about not fussing when I fall.

Last night I had a bad experience with teething. Although I already have my bottom two teeth, my next tooth that is coming through hurts a lot. To help me feel better, mom and dad tried to give me some Infant Motrin last night. However, I really don't like the medicine so when mom tried to deposit it in my mouth, I continuously blew so no medicine could get in. Mommy finally calmed me down by singing "Hush-a-Bye Baby."

The weather is really warming up so we are spending lots of time at the park. I like the wind on my face as I ride in my stroller.

Last Thursday, Aunt Kerrie and my cousins Hayden and Tyler came over to play. I sure like my boy cousins. Hayden let me chew on his arm. Grandma also came over with her easter bunny ears on. Then, right before bedtime, Mommy surprised Grandpa and all three boys got to skype with him.

Aunt Joy takes good care of me while mommy and daddy are at work. She teaches me sign language to help me communicate when I'm eating. The first sign I do now is when I'm "all done." For now, I'm all done with this blog. Talk to you soon!

My latest

I make my mommy and daddy's heart melt now when I reach for them to pick me up.

On Sunday, we went to the Fellowship of The Woodlands church. It was my first experience in a protestant church. Although the music was loud, I slept most of the time. Dad, mom, and I will go to that church on a frequent basis, and go to St. Edward Catholic Church once a month so mom can receive the eucharist.

Jackson's 7 month development profile

Hello world! Can you believe I am 7 months old already? Mommy realized that she just can't stop me from being a baby. As you can see, I no longer have my reddish-brown comb over. I'm just not a newborn anymore. I can sit up on my own, roll over, I babble like a Broussard, grab for my toys and put them (and everything) in my mouth, eat sweet potato, squash, mango and other fruits, yogurt, oatmeal, and tofu! I can hold my bottle with one hand now. Recently, I learned to reach for mommy. My first two teeth came in this month. Teething has been a painless process, for mom and dad, so far. I have had a couple ear infections, runny nose, and a cough. For the record, I DO NOT like mommy and Aunt Joy wiping my nose or giving me medicine through a medicine dropper. They tried to trick me by giving me the bottle first, but I wised up. I'm no fool. Life is good...no complaints!

6 months old

I now weigh 18 pounds and I'm in the 75th percentile for everything. At my 6-month check-up, Dr. Elahee asked mommy and daddy if I was rolling over back to front and front to back. They said yes. Dr. Elahee said that pretty soon I should start saying constanents. Daddy informed her that I aleady am. I say, "mmm, buh-buh-buh, da-da." So, I am on track developmentally.

Also, I am now able to stay sitting up unassisted. Mom and dad are so proud. I like to put everything and anything in my mouth.

Food on the otherhand, is a little more of an adjustment for me. I like oatmeal with applesauce warmed up. I now drink water out of a sippy cup after each meal. Have you ever had organic whole milk plain yogurt? It is simply disgusting and I let mommy know it!

I have a double ear infection but I'm being a trooper. I take my antibiotics like a big boy, but it has given me diariha which caused my bum to be sore. Mommy got me a perscription and it is healing just find. I still laugh and play. The benedryl that I was on made me hyper. Quite fun!

Feed me please!

Well, I'm four months old now. Mommy took me to my pediatrician on November 18th. She said I weighed 15.5 lbs, and was 25 & 1/4 inches long. Mom talked to the doctor about my spitting up issues. It seems that when I'm happy, or at any given time within 20 minutes after I eat, I spit up. Mom learned very early on to have me wear a bib all the time. Dr. Elahee said that as long as it is not projectile (big word for me) spitting and as long as I continue to thrive, it is not a problem. She said that I'm a happy spitter. Then came the good news. I can now eat yummy rice cereal. Mom and dad asked Aunt Joy to feed me the cereal for the first time yesterday. I liked it. The consistency was a little different at first, but I took the task rather seriously and finished my meal. I get 2 - 4 tablespoons a day, and then my usual bottle during the day. Last night I woke up only once to eat. Mom and dad give me 4 oz, but I really need 6 oz.

I'm looking forward to seeing Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Kerrie, and my cousin's Hayden and Tyler for Thanksgiving. Grandma, dad, mom and I will drive up to Austin and spend turkey day with them. I plan to sleep during the whole drive there.

Mom went to Mitchell, South Dakota on November 19th for a recruiting trip. I got to talk to her in the evening before I went to bed. She told me that she missed me so much and hearing my voice, pulled at her heart strings. Wow, do I feel loved!

I rolled over at 3 months

Yesterday, while I was chilling on the rug at Joy's, I rolled over for the first time. I wasn't really sure what happened and it kind of startled me. Aunt Joy came and turned me over on my back, and I was happy again. Then, last night while I was sleeping, I woke up and rolled over. Dad came in and found me on my tummy and picked me up. I wonder when I'm going to be able to roll back onto my back again??? Well, what else is new? Oh, I am teething for sure. Even though I haven't broken the skin yet, I bite down on my fingers or anything I can get into my mouth. I talk all the time now. My most talkative moments are in the morning when I wake up and then around 6PM after my bath. I love my baths with daddy. I kick and splash the water.

I had some pictures taken with mom, dad and grandma on November 4th. Mom made the appointment for 2PM, knowing that my nap time was 3:30PM. Well, the photographer was running an hour behind. At 3PM, we started with Christmas pictures; I was a happy baby. At 3:30PM on the dot, I got fussy and crashed. So, the pictures of me with my eyes closed, was during my nap time.

On November 10th, mom and dad were at my Baptismal class, while Aunt Joy babysat me. Aunt Joy gave me a bath with my cousin Penny at 7 o'clock. Mom forgot to tell Aunt Joy that I go pee-pee when I hit the warm water. Well, needless to say, I shot Penny in the cheek. I was so glad to hear her laugh and say "Do it again!" I didn't know I'm not supposed to do that!

When I held my head up

On Friday, October 10th, Aunt Anna was holding me on her lap, when I held my head up on my won for the first time. On Saturday, mom and dad took me to meet my great-grandparents in De Ridder Louisiana. Maw Maw and Paw Paw have a nice house on the farm. I'm eating about 24 oz a day now and weigh almost 14lbs. I just finished talking to grandpa in the computer. He said I just keep getting bigger and bigger. He made me laugh.
